"I realized I could do what I thought I couln't."
It was a Saturday morning and Bonnie was attending her first class at Deliberate Strength with her friend from work. She was nervous, excited, and a little unsure of how things were going to go. She reminded herself that it's just one class and if she makes a fool of herself she won't come back, or have to worry about seeing those people ever again.
Bonnie didn't make a fool out of herself. Far from it! She met new people who were friendly and nice. They asked her questions and were excited she was there. During the workout Bonnie got feedback from the coach, who didn't make her feel unable or silly at all, but rather encouraged her and gave her confidence to try again.
Before joining the Deliberate Strength Family, Bonnie was working out from home and struggling with knee pain and the motivation to workout.
"Since joining DS, I don't have the same struggle with wanting to work out. I actually enjoy coming to the gym and getting my work out in. That's not to say it isn't challenging, because it is. But I really enjoy the variety of exercises and the camaraderie that I get from working out with others. It has become my special time to do something just for me. I also no longer struggle with knee pain."
The turning point: "I realized I can do what I thought I couldn't. That has really helped me gain some confidence in what I'm capable of. My Results have been a higher level of confidence in all areas of life. I know that if I work hard and don't give up, that I'm capable of doing challenging things. I've learned that making fitness a priority in my life also transfers over to my overall mental well being. There are days I go into the gym feeling tired and stressed out from work and the challenges of daily life, but when I leave I feel refreshed and ready to take on those challenges."
