Stephanie is one of the faithful 5:30AM-er's who shows up and get's to work. She started with a story not unusual to what we often see. The dreaded thought of going to the gym, getting on the treadmill, and wondering if it's even going to give you the results you want. Have you ever been there? Maybe you're currently there right now. Stephanie was 9 months ago, but not anymore, she found a solution to the dreaded boredom!
"When I started working out with Deliberate Strength I was struggling with boredom. I had a difficult time getting to the gym because the thought of spending more time on a treadmill sounded like torture. I was talking to friends about it one night and they encourage me to call Deliberate Strength. When I finally made the financial and time commitment I immediately felt out of my depth, but encouraged that I would eventually "get it" and I have!
"What really made the difference in the results I've gotten was the accountability to get to the gym because of the 100 Workout Challenge (to workout 100 times from July 1st to December 31st) and the coaches' pushing to reach my potential and encouraging me.
"Because of the 100 Workout Challenge, I am physically much stronger and mentally I know I can do more than I think; emotionally I learned that I don't need as much sleep as previously determined. 5:30AM comes so much earlier than you think, but despite the hardship of those early mornings, I never regretted the lost sleep and was always grateful I had tolled out of bed.
"My entire body is so much stronger, which is one of the main reasons I joined. I was anxious that as I age I will lose muscle and gain osteoporosis. I now have the tools to fight that battle with age and hopefully prolong that process.
"My results have affected my SO THAT... in that it has given me the confidence to try new things. To not shy away from the difficult hike. Or, not rock climb because my upper body can't handle it. It has given me the confidence to live and not just sit on the sidelines!"
Hearing Stephanie's story reminds us why we do what we do. Strength has a greater purpose, and really living life is what it's all about!
